Derelicts of the Deep: An Analogy of Shipwrecks

A husband of 34 years to his high-school sweetheart, father, grandfather, and ordained minister, Albert G. Pollock grew up in a small Eastern NC coastal town. His love for the ministry, combined with his love for maritime history and the sea spawned the birth of Derelicts of the Deep: An Analogy of Shipwrecks. Through this analogy of various shipwrecks, some well known, and some not so well known, he endeavors to explore man’s decision-making process and various character flaws, while discovering the intricacies of human nature. As you read and explore the many facets of “what makes us tick,” you will soon realize that not all of the repercussions of our actions must be fatal and end in Shipwreck.

Looking Into the Rearview Mirror: A Journey of Life

Looking Into the Rearview Mirror: A Journey of Life is a work of spiritual instruction that is designed to help the reader to understand the basics of the Christian faith and attempts to lead him or her down the path to salvation. Written in a clear and easy to understand language, the work addresses such sometimes-difficult theological concepts as sin, grace, sanctification, and resurrection. The work covers many essential topics concerning Christianity like Christ’s crucifixion, reading the Bible, and attending church. Liberally littered throughout with stories from the author’s life, this work can be considered both a faith manual and memoir all at once. By combining these two aspects of writing into one narrative, one can clearly see that although faith is personal, it is lived out in public. Therefore, faith and life go hand in hand.

Puritans, Pilgrims, and Militant Christians

Following four years of military training as a high school Army ROTC cadet, I found myself a frustrated and guilt ridden young man. Having a mind set geared for militant actions; it was at the height of the Viet Nam war era when unknown medical problems precluded any opportunity for me to render military service to my country. Puritans, Pilgrims, and Militant Christians deals with the ramifications of the militant spirit inside each of us, and the ensuing internal and spiritual battles when confronting the separation of issues such as honor, duty, loyalty, and the ultimate surrender and obedience to one’s belief in God and His teachings.
