You be the Judge

"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24

As you have probably noticed by now, Satan is notorious for using the Word of God against us as he did with Eve in the Garden of Eden. As I was reading the Bible, I came across the above verse and it stood out to me. I have noticed that anytime we are forced to make an assessment of someone or something that is outstandingly wicked and worldly, we are automatically deemed as judging. This scenario has probably happened to you at some time, it has surely happened to me. The underlying problem with judging is that it is done without knowledge of all the facts. It would be foolish on my part to announce that I have a pecan tree in front of me without looking for some evidence to substantiate my claim. Certain trees are sometimes hard to identify, especially if we cannot find the evidence to do so properly, and so it goes for anything that we focus on, including people. Without question, the character of people is of more importance than the character of trees. This is why Christ warned us not to assess someone without first knowing the entire truth. The results can be disastrous for everyone. But, let’s go one-step further.

"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
"
Luke 6:37

Christ is actually telling the Christian not only to judge, but to judge with wisdom, knowledge, and truth. "Judge righteous judgment.” Christ is letting us know that if we are in a place that we have to judge, do so cautiously, because heavenly witnesses are noting it. There are times when we have to make a decision about someone, whether or not we like it. However, Christ encourages us that when we do judge, try to find it in our hearts to forgive also. The unsaved have no room in their hearts for forgiveness, only revenge. We can see this displayed in the courtrooms across America today. Christ expects a little more from His children. He expects them to possess the ability to forgive, which is a gift of the Holy Spirit that resides in every born-again Christian. We possess this ability to forgive, because we are forgiven for all time and eternity.

Let us pray:

Holy Father, I praise you for knowledge and wisdom, but most of all for understanding. Without understanding, wisdom and knowledge are void. I praise you for giving me the ability to look through situations that are in dire need of understanding. This wisdom only comes from you and I praise you for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I praise you for another day and I pray that you will bless my loved ones and me as we go through another day. Please give us safety today; I praise you for our daily bread. I thank you Father for salvation and forestalling my judgment through Christ Jesus. I praise you for the forgiveness of my sin debt; it is forever forgotten through the Blood of the Lamb of God. There is never enough praise for this act of mercy on my behalf. I pray Father, that when I have to act accordingly, that you will help me to forgive others as I You forgave me. I praise you for this ability to love others even when they are not deserving of love. I love you, because you first loved me and brought me to this place to display this love to others who need it so much. Go with me in this day and orchestrate this day as you see fit, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
