Love in Actions
"Now
there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom
Jesus loved."
John 13:23
Has there ever been anyone in your life that
you truly loved and just could not get close enough too? I'm
sure most of us have felt this way. For the Apostle John,
that person was his Lord. The Lord had first place in John's
heart and John expressed this love whenever he could, even
when in public. The Apostle John never felt ashamed or
embarrassed by the Lord's presence. He loved the Lord so
much that dying for Him was not enough.
Following Christ’s ascension back to Heaven,
the religious rulers and authorities martyred all the
apostles, with the exception of John, who at that time was
the pastor of the Church of Ephesus. Although they tried to
kill John by dropping him into a vat of boiling oil, they
did not succeed as God held other plans for the beloved
disciple. The authorities exiled John to a prison island
called Patmos where God instructed him to write the
testimony of Christ Jesus, better known as the Revelation.
God revealed things to John that He had never before
disclosed to anyone and John, thru his writings, would share
it with the world, for those who would believe on His Son.
This is just the way God is. The closer one becomes to God,
the more God reveals the truth of matters to the individual.
You will soon discover there is no secret with the one that
you love the most, and when you really love Jesus with all
your heart, you will find yourself wanting to lean over and
listen to the heartbeat of your Lord. The Apostle John knew
and understood where to find the secret of life.
If you are longing to experience love like
this, you can easily obtain it. There are no initiations, no
clubs to join, no monies or fees to pay; the simple act of
giving Christ your heart, love, and devotion in this life is
all it takes. It's that simple. In turn, you will become a
child of God, with all the inheritance of the Kingdom of
God. But most assuredly, you will not only have the love,
attention, and caring of the One who loved you the most, He
will give to you eternal life. No doubt, not everyone seeks
this love and attention. This fact alone may account for the
reason of so many lonely, sad, and discouraged people in the
world today. It doesn’t have to be this way. Simply direct
your attention towards Christ Jesus and watch what happens
next. Life as you know it will never be the same again.
Let us pray:
Holy Father, I praise you for another day and
I praise you for my daily bread. I praise you for your love
and attention you give to me in my life everyday. I love and
adore you Lord with all my heart. I do long to lay my head
upon your bosom; I long to be with you face to face, at your
side throughout eternity. Until then, I rest assured that
you are with me in my heart. I praise you for taking care of
my every need and I thank you for my health today. Dear
Lord, go with me into the day and guide my steps with
safety. I praise you for saving me and keeping me, in Jesus
name I pray, AMEN.
